Be Kind & Eat More Plants

How many veggies do you think you eat in a day???
Honestly, everyone could benefit from eating more plants. The ideology that humans need significant amounts of meat protein is a huge misconception that has lead to an overconsumption.
I am not here to tell anyone to stop enjoying meat in their diet however, the typical western diet contains more animal based protein than we need to sustain good health.
A diet high in animal protein and processed foods with very little in whole grains, fruits and vegetables have increasing rates of chronic disease. In fact people are suffering from more diet-related diseases than ever before! 😓
A common concern is protein. “Where do you get your protein from if you don’t eat meat?” Did you know plants have protein too? AND often people eat too much protein in a day. Excess protein is stored as adipose tissue (fat) & puts strain on your kidneys.
Plants also have good amounts of protein relative to their calorie count, plus more of the good stuff like fiber, vitamins and less of the bad stuff like saturated & trans fat.
Consider replacing a portion of the meat you typically eat with vegetables, fruits or whole grains.
To name a few plant proteins:
